Determinant of Intention to Use the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard at Indonesian Sharia Bank
Abstract
The main objective of this study is to analyze and predict the determinants of behavioral intention and behavior in using the BSI QRIS. This study develops a Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2), tailoring the constructs of self-efficacy and trust into the UTAUT2 model to predict the effect of belief in strengthening or weakening efficacy on intentions to use the BSI QRIS. The study sample comprises 204 customers who use BSI mobile banking throughout Indonesia. This study employs a quantitative approach with structural equation Model (SEM) as the analysis model using Smart PLS software, version 3.0. The results indicate that performance expectations and habits have an invaluable and significant effect on intentions to use the BSI QRIS. Meanwhile, effort expectations, social influences, facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation, price value, and self-efficacy were futile variables for the pertinent case. Trust cannot nourish the self-efficacy effect on intentions to use the BSI QRIS. The intention to use has a significant effect on behavior. This study is unique because it uses UTAUT2, a model that has never been used to estimate the BSI QRIS customer uptake. Therefore, the findings of this study are expected to contribute to forecasting a more detailed model of consumer behavior from an Islamic perspective, particularly in the context of behavioral intention to use the BSI QRIS.
