Abstract

This research was conducted to identify and analyze the influence of financial management literacy and financial technology business behavior on students at the National University (UNAS) with intention as an intervening variable. The research sample is 110 respondents who come from students of FEB UNAS with a total population of 119. Data are collected using questionnaires and structural equation model (SEM) analysis techniques. The results showed that financial literacy had a positive but insignificant effect on intentions. Financial technology has a positive and significant effect on intentions. Meanwhile, financial literacy and technology positively and significantly affect financial management behavior. However, intention does not have a positive and significant effect on financial management behavior, so this variable cannot fully mediate the relationship between financial literacy and technology and financial management behavior. This research offers a unique contribution by extensively exploring how financial literacy and financial technology influence financial management behavior among university students. By examining the mediating role of intention, the study enhances our understanding of the intricate relationship between these variables. The findings provide valuable insights for policymakers, educators, and financial institutions to develop targeted interventions and educational programs that enhance financial literacy, encourage the adoption of financial technology, and ultimately improve students’ financial management behavior.
